Love that seasonal cleanse

March is upon us and with it the start of autumn. Our wish is to help keep you well this autumn and winter and throughout the whole year.
Ayurveda is unique in that it aims to keep you well throughout a long and fulfilled life. You can make this timeless wisdom of health part of your everyday wellness choices. Timely attention to deviations in wellness and balance, is key to avoiding major health problems in the near present or future. As the saying goes: why rely on there being an ambulance team at the bottom of the cliff, when you can avoid the fall altogether?
Change of season W.O.F.
Ayurveda explains the change of season is a key time to take action to cleanse the build-up of imbalance from the previous season. Seasonal cleanse helps to reset your body at the end of summer, autumn, winter and spring.
During summer the increased heat from outside builds up, often depositing in the primary areas of Pitta in your mind and body. Below are the key areas of Pitta.
What symptoms of Pitta imbalance you are experiencing?
- RANJAKA PITTA is the main site of Pitta in the body. It is located in the small intestine, red blood cells, liver and spleen.
Regulates blood chemistry, blood cells and distribution of nutrients through the blood stream.
Imbalance is linked to toxicity in the body, blood disorders, skin inflammations and anger.
Imbalanced by too much hot, sour and salty food, alcohol and excessive fasting, vinegar, fermented foods, inadequate rest.
- PACHAKA PITTA located in the stomach and small intestines.
Governs digestion of food and separating of waste products from nutrients Imbalance is linked to heartburn, ulcers, irregular digestion.
Imbalanced by excessive salty, sour and pungent (hot spicy) foods, alcohol, caffeine, and fasting.
- SADHAKA PITTA is located in the heart and brain. Controls the heart’s function, contentment, courage, memory, fulfilment of desires, drive, decisiveness and spirituality.
Imbalance is linked to heart disease, emotional upset, indecisiveness, lacking the desire to face challenges and make important decisions and work-aholism.
Imbalanced by excessive salty, sour and pungent (hot spicy) foods, alcohol, fasting, inadequate rest, anger, violence, skipping, meals and grief.
- ALOCHAKA PITTA is located In the eyes.
Responsible for the function of the eyes – associated with good or bad vision and connects eyes with emotions.Imbalance is linked to bloodshot eyes, vision and eye problems.
Imbalanced by too much sour, pungent (hot spicy) and salty foods, alcohol and excessive fasting.
- BHRAJAKA PITTA is located In the skin.
Controls the state of the skin.
Imbalance is linked to rashes, acne, boils, skin cancers and skin disorders of all kinds.
Imbalanced by too much sour, pungent (hot spicy) and salty food, alcohol, excessive fasting, inadequate sleep, excess sun exposure and chlorinated water.
