Cough or tickle in your throat?

Are you experiencing a build up of phlegm or a tickle in your throat, causing you to cough or clear your throat regularly? Winter is the time of year where coughs and cold increase as we move from the warmth of inside to the chill or damp of outside. Typically I recommend and personally use Clear Throat. Carole’s statement below shows other health professionals recommend it too.
“My Ayurvedic doctor recommended this to me to purchase because it is fabulous! It works so fast and tastes wonderful. Well worth the money. And it wards off colds faster too. It is a must during the cold season!”
Carole’s experience is quite typical of people who use Clear Throat to help soothe cough and congestion and to support wellbeing during the winter season. It helps to nip a scratchy throat in the bud and taken with hot water helps to open up the respiratory pathways to aid in easing congestion.
Clear Throat is a precise, time-tested herbal formula that is prepared in the traditional ayurvedic way to aid bioavailability and easy assimilation. The careful combination of herbs create a synergistic effect that is greater than using isolated individual herbs.
Let’s take a closer look at 3 key herbs in Clear Throat - Holy Basil (leaf), Chinese Pistachio (gall), and Malabar Nut Tree (root).
- Holy Basil (leaf (aka Tulsi)) is pungent, bitter, light and dry. It has a heating and sharp quality which helps to liquify phlegm or mucous and support the body’s natural response to allergens. Research confirms it supports healthy immune function. It balance the coldness of Vata and Kapha and can slightly increase Pitta or heat. It is known as Holy Tulsi and has been used in many cultures around the world for thousands of years. You may know of it as the Basil plant that is also used to add flavour to pasta dishes and other culinary delights! Tulsi can also be purchased as a single herbal product in tablet form.
- Chinese Pistachio (gall) and Malabar Nut Tree (also known as Vasa or Vasaka) are traditionally used to help relieve the irritation that results in a cough, helping to soothe an irritated throat and promotes the secretion of mucous or phlegm.
In addition I also recommend Congest Assist when a more productive cough is present.
Wishing you the bliss of balance..
